Hi, everyone...

A post to say THANK YOU to the nearly 200 Artists that submitted packages for review this year. I am blown away by the professionalism, great communication and...truly...the incredible music that ALL of you have recorded and presented. As we grow, this number of submissions also grows - thankfully.

It is always a challenge putting a festival program together. As a musician myself, I fully understand the hopes, frustrations and efforts that an Artist undergoes throughout the process. For decades, I submitted to festivals...so many 'no thanks'...or even worse, so many times I heard nothing back...and sometimes, the big YES. It's brutal. All we want to do is play.

But now, as a festival director, I get the process...clearly...it's really tough to respond to each and every one of you brilliant musicians..and a 'form letter', at least to me, is just so impersonal. I get it...really, I get it.

Our program for 2024 is set now. It was not easy to put together, I assure you. One must consider so many elements...budget, number of bands needed, lodging, meals, sub-genres of jazz...not to mention what our own agenda is for presenting music...

If you have heard from us...well, you know you are playing...and if you have not, please accept our best wishes - and our hopes that you will continue to consider The Stowe Jazz Festival in the future. We keep EVERY submission here on file - all of them...and each year, we listen and review the new and most of the old to find the right fit...
